Happy Birthday Jerry Bear
Today is Jerry Garcia's birthday, on the 9th, the day he left us. I will never forget the day I heard the news, a full 3 days after his death...yes, even then I rarely watched tv or listen to mainstream radio, so I didn't know. That summer was so hard, one of the worst in my life, and here was one more tragic event...you can cry a river when your heart gets low enough. And would the music truly end? Yes, the shows are gone, I even miss the lots & hanging in the circles (and what happened to my brothers & sisters who toured, what became of my fellow heads?) But NO, the music lives on, and we remeber you. So thanks for the trip Jerry, it's been a long strange one so far...still missing you bear...love from a long lost deadhead.
