A word on dying
Fabric dying that is. I first started tie-dying when I was in my preteens, my 1st real "paying" job...I spent the entire summer tie-dying sets for this guy above his shop. Mostly he sold them at flea markets, he did screen printing & such in his shop though. I easy did a few thousand shirts, shorts & dresses that summer. Now here I am, in my 30's & still dying, though I am much better at it than back in the days of spirals & sunbursts, lol. I've learned so many different methods, LWI (or muted marbleizing as I was taught) , cream dying, fade dyes, but tie-dye remains my favorite. I love putting pictures in dye on fabric, it's so cool...I did some tie-dye last night, and it's just about time to see how they turned out. Keep your fingers crossed!
